Job Opening: Graphic Designer

6 Mile Runs seeks a Graphic Designer to join our team. This position requires a strong understanding of imagery, layout, design, color, texture, and typography. The Graphic Designer has in-depth knowledge of various software programs that include, but are not limited to, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

This is a salaried, full-time position that may require the employee to be on-call on nights and weekends and on holidays throughout the year after regular duty hours on a rotating, scheduled basis.

Basic Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in graphic design, motion graphics, and post-production;
  • Any combination of education and training/experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described;
  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite programs to deliver polished still and motion graphics with an emphasis on Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
  • Ability to produce high-quality results within established graphic standards;
  • Extraordinary visualization, conceptualization, and graphic design skills with a strong background in typography, color theory, design layout, 2D and 3D animation;
  • Knowledge and professional working experience with 2D graphic design, creating clean readable artwork that can be distribution-ready;
  • Ability to deliver exceptional, innovative artwork on time while maintaining a high level of customer service;
  • Strong communication and organizational skills;
  • Ability to multitask and produce creative, quality work under tight deadlines;
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision from concept to completion;
  • Working knowledge of video editing techniques and practices using programs like iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Premiere, and Avid is a plus;
  • A portfolio that showcases a breadth of design work that includes TV/video, digital & social; and,
  • Authorization to work for any U.S. employer; candidate must be able to pass public trust security background screening.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Take an idea from concept thru production to meet client and mission objectives.
  • Brainstorm and conceptualize ideas;
  • Create and produce high-quality still graphics;
  • Work in collaboration with other clients and production staff to produce various video products for broadcast, web, and video installations;
  • Create graphic compositions, logos, symbol illustrations, menus, UIs, and buttons;
  • Create vector-based illustrations, icons, graphics, etc., to convey information as “infographics”;
  • Research and recommend new media technologies to advance program initiatives and stay abreast of current developments and applications for state-of-the-art design and postproduction; and,
  • Organize and track project requirements and timelines.
